Ona je izgra\u0111ena (i njena akumulacija formirana) 1955. godine. Povr\u0161ina njenog sliva je 17.423 km<sup>2<\/sup>. Prose\u010dan proticaj reke je 399 m\u00b3\/s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visina brane je 42 m, a njena du\u017eina (bez ma\u0161inske zgrade) 167 m. U sredi\u0161njem delu brane sme\u0161ten je preliv sa slapi\u0161tem; du\u017e obe strane izgra\u0111ene su dve ma\u0161inske zgrade sa po dva agregata u svakoj. Kapacitet preliva je 9.000 m\u00b3\/s. Du\u017eina akumulacije je 25 km; njena glavna namena je proizvodnja elektri\u010dne energije. Ova akumulacija pru\u017ea relativno ograni\u010dene mogu\u0107nosti izravnanja (dnevno i nedeljno izravnanje voda), zbog nanosa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prate\u0107i objekti brane obuhvataju slede\u0107e: \u010detiri temeljna ispusta \u2013 tunel za ispu\u0161tanje nanosa i poplava, tunel za ispu\u0161tanje balvana, riblja staza itd. Ukupni kapacitet temeljnih ispusta je 500 m<sup>3<\/sup>\/s. HE je proto\u010dnog tipa. Minimalni odr\u017eivi (garantovani) protok je 60 m<sup>3<\/sup>\/s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Idejni projekat za revitalizaciju agregata zavr\u0161en je 2009. godine, a zatim je 2013. godine izra\u0111ena tenderska dokumentacija. O\u010dekuje se da \u0107e kompletna revitalizacija biti zavr\u0161ena 2018. godine. Revitalizacija \u0107e pove\u0107ati ukupnu snagu HE za 30 MW. Pored toga je iznad objekta sifona desne ma\u0161inske zgrade izgra\u0111ena nova kontrolna soba sa razvodnim postrojenjem 110 kV. Ova brana je jedina u slivu Drine opremljena ribljom stazom.
